We are currently seeking a new Director of Lifespan Learning

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Los Gatos (UUFLG) is seeking a quarter-time Director of Lifespan Learning for a position beginning March 2012.

We are looking for a professional Director of Lifespan Learning who is committed to lifelong learning and spiritual exploration.

The Director will work with the dedicated volunteers of our Lifespan Learning Committee, learning teams and our Minister to create an exciting learning environment and curriculum development for moral and spiritual development grounded in Unitarian Universalist principles both in the classroom and in Worship Services.

As many of our children have unique medical or developmental challenges, the Director must also have knowledge and experience with special needs support to be able to provide leadership in developing appropriate learning modules and training.

Currently, there are approximately 20 children and youth in our program and 75 adults.  Our current programs include:

1. Weekly Religious Education classes for children age 5-15, child care for infants and toddlers
2. Weekly “Time for All Ages” during opening Worship Service
3. Occasional multi-generational services
4. Several family potlucks

We are seeking a candidate who enjoys working with all ages of the congregation and brings energy, humor and a flexibility to work with complexities.  She/he must have initiative and good organizational skills that will empower the gifts of others.  A candidate with training in liberal religious education programs and experience with special needs children is preferred; but someone with the skills and professional experience in nonreligious settings will also be considered.

The part-time position, approximately 10 hours per week, September through August, includes two hours on Sunday mornings, and flexible hours on weekdays, with occasional evening meetings.  The Director will work collaboratively with the Lifespan Learning Committee and be supervised by the Personnel Committee of the Board.

Compensation, commensurate with experience, will be within the range of the Unitarian Universalist Association’s salary guidelines, not to exceed $875/month, paid on a monthly basis.  No benefits are provided.  The Director of Lifespan Learning will receive five Sundays off during the September to June church year.
